While Aotearoa is still very much experiencing restrictions in some way, shape or form, it’s encouraging to see additional funding support to boost the arts sector.
If you’re working for a charitable organisation focused on community events, culture or the arts, there are grants available to give your organisation a boost, especially if you’ve been impacted by the pandemic.
Here are a few of our favourite upcoming arts boosting grants, as identified by our Grants Expertise Management System (GEMS).
Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
The $50 million Regional Events Fund is designed to stimulate domestic tourism and travel between regions through holding events. This is intended to support the tourism and events sector and replace some of the spending from international tourists due to the border closure as a result of COVID-19. Funding is split by Regional Tourism Organisations, with each region having their own criteria and deadlines.

Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage Cultural Sector Emergency Relief Fund
The Ministry for Culture and Heritage are offering funds to support cultural organisations that are in danger of imminent collapse.

Auckland Council Rapid Response COVID-19 Recovery grants
Council will work with communities to ensure that funding is allocated to projects and initiatives that help support local communities to manage and recover from the impacts of the pandemic.
